Detective Stewart keyed the mic of her radio. “Dispatch, send a van to the alley behind the Morrow Building for prisoner pick-up.” The statuesque policewoman turned to look at the pile of unconscious and wounded gang members that the bounty hunter was perched atop. “Dispatch, better make that two vans.” She looked at Constrictor sternly. “Don’t get me wrong, I am glad you rounded up the American Blue-bloods off the streets, but isn’t taking down street gangs a little outside your usual line of work?”


Constrictor grinned. “Ah, yes. But thanks to our little white supremist knitting circle here, I have a lead on those Nazi goons you wanted me to track down, Chief. According to our contract, each one of these skin head wannabes is worth $10K. I am willing to be flexible for that kind of cash.”


Detective Stewart frowned, tossing her hair back over her shoulder. The mercenary attitude of the bounty hunter really rubbed the policewoman the wrong way, regardless of how effective Constrictor was in her efforts. “Fine, I will make sure the money is sent to your Swiss account. But you better get me some results soon. Another electronics store was hit last night and the M.O. matches the Nazis’. The commissioner is turning up the heat on me, and I want to bring this case in now!”


Constrictor stood up and did a standing front somersault off the pile of unconscious gang members. She landed agilely in front of Detective Stewart. “I’ll do what I can, Chief. But I kinda like working for you. Makes me feel all civic minded and patriotic.”

The irate policewoman turned away to see if the paddy wagons had arrived yet. “Just do your job, bounty hunter.”
